The students will access Kerpoof, click on Spell-a-Picture, select a scene, and the spell some nouns. In the woodlands example below, I spelled bird, monkey, deer, squirrel, flower and bear. The Second Grade will be practicing their spelling words using SpellingCity.com. The site lets students learn their spelling words, play games with their spelling words, and take practice tests. It makes learning spelling words fun. Just click on the Spelling City logo below to access the 2nd grade words.
We will start the class by reviewing how to log in and start a web browser to access the 2nd Grade Blog.
The class will review the keyboard by doing an activity called Keyseeker which is an interactive learning tool to help kids recognize letters on a keyboard and use the correct hand to strike the key. The keyboard is split into purple for left and green for right hand. I'll have bands on their wrists to help them remember. We will finish the class by closing all applications and logging out. |
